- Identify dates (maybe circle them), make an informal timeline of them and take note of when specific events in the doc. take place (I just did this on the blank page at the end.
- Look for Change Over Time concepts (Continuities would be when something stays the same) and identify them in some way.
- Look for Compare and Contrast concepts and identify them in some way.
- Look for samples of evidence or examples and identify them in some way.
- Look for key terms used repeatedly (like "most" and "emerging") think about why they are being used
and identify them in some way. - Feel okay about totally marking up the doc with highlighting, underlining, arrows, circles, etc. ... just know what it all means and be able to explain your notations.
