Notice the student's essay in the forefront of the photo. At the top of the page you see that it is essay #1 (the student has circled it to alert the reader which essay is being answered) which means it is the first in the essay portion of the test ... the DBQ.
Notice the white scoring guide/rubric readily available with notes the reader has made about things to look for specific to that specific DBQ. These notes were made during the half day training that the readers had on the DBQ prior to beginning their scoring. The College Board wants to be sure the readers are following the standard for that particular essay question - not their personal idea of what score the essay should earn. This is how they maintain a fair and accurate read for the thousands of essays submitted.
The scores are recorded by ID numbers ... the readers are unaware of your name or the name of your school.
Notice the pink college board badge across the table (in a plastic sleeve). Readers are required to always be wearing their badges while in the contact with the testing materials. This is another way the College Board maintains testing security.
In the second photograph you can see what the reading tends to look like - real people read and score your essays and they truely want you to do well!
