APWH

For Monday 8/31 - we will be going to the lab but come to room 14 first for some pod work with your PERSIAN charts - identifying Themes. We will spend about 25 minutes in pods and then head up to the computer lab in 219.

In the lab ... here is what we are doing. You will have this printed to follow as a tutorial.

Please get on a computer and log in
Go to a search engine and put in getAfiveAP World History
Go to students (top menu) and sign up (choose a password you can remember easily)

Period 6 students use this code to join our classroom
Students can join your course using the code J298QBC.

Period 8 students use this code to join our classroom.
Students can join your course using the code Q4TU73P.

Once you are in click on Lessons on the left menu. Select the first lesson (8000 BCE to 600 BCE: Intro)
Read the study notes on the right margin first. Next watch/listen to the lesson. Finally take the 5 question multiple choice test and submit. When you see you answers look at the corrections for any you miss.
Go on to the next Lesson (Ancient River Valley Civilizations Part 1) … Read the study notes. Watch/Listen to the lesson and take the quiz (4 questions) and submit.
I should be able to track your progress and your scores on getAfive as part of the “classroom”.

Next, open a new tab and go to LearneratorAP World History
Register yourself
For now we are using the free version which gives us access to “easy” and “moderate” level questions. We have two classrooms (Period 6) and (Period 8)

Period 6 go to XKPO2Q9B
Period 8 go to 40APWR6T

I need to invite you from my computer (by class) … so I need you to put in your email address for me (I will call you up).
I have already put in Stacy in period 6 and Ian in period 8 to test the system.

Under AP Exams choose AP World History
Select Big History and Peopling of the Earth (there are 10 questions but you will do only the first 9. Easy and Moderate levels).
Read the question and select the best answer. Instantly you will know if you got the answer correct.
If your answer is correct you will get the explanation (rational) for the answer.
Very important! Read the rational for the answer. Look at the Theme it corresponds to. Look at the skill you are utilizing … and make a mental note that it is Contextualization.
Then go to the Next question.
If you got the answer wrong you must move on to the next question. But first write the question down and save it on a word document (you cannot copy and paste it).
When finished with all 9 questions send the ones you missed to my email.
Do all 9.
